Rumour: Manchester United set to bid £50 million for Ross Barkley

Manchester United are set to bid a hefty sum of £50 million for the England international in the upcoming winter transfer window. Ross Barkley was being monitored by Manchester United for a long time and the Red Devils are set to offer Everton £50 million pounds for securing his services.

As per BleacherReport, David Moyes will look for his old club for squad recruitment this winter after it emerged that the Manchester United boss is interested in striking a big-money move for Everton’s Ross Barkley. Marouane Fellaini had been Moyes’s recruit from Everton in the summer transfer window.

Stuart Mathieson of the Manchester Evening News had reported that: ” United- who made a last-dtich attempt to sign Bale before his summer move to Real Madrid- do not want to miss out on another superstar of British football. They believe a bid of 50 million pounds will be enough to get Everton around the negotiating table- but the Premier League champions also know there will be plenty of bridge-building if there is any chance of a deal being done.”

The fee is twice the fee Manchester United paid to sign Marouane Fellaini from Everton in the summer. Manchester United also face stiff competition from Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea in signing the 20 year old in the upcoming winter transfer window.
