Manchester United could move for Newcastle United star Cheick Tiote in the summer to ease problems in midfield.

The Red Devils have been chronically short of a stabalizing influence in the center of the park, which has resulted in their worst season ever in the Premier League so far.

Although new boss David Moyes recruited Maruone Fellaini for a sturdy role in midfield, the Belgian has failed to impress. Lack of performances coupled with several injuries, has posed the gaffer with unending worries.

The combative and tenacious Cheick  Tiote could be a shrewd buy as he would provide the much needed bite and bottle in midfield, which could go a long way to inspiring the lackluster champions.

However, having recently lost Yohan Cabaye, the Toons will do everything they can to hold on to their enigmatic Ivorian, who has been their most consistent performer over the years.
