Rumour: Manchester United target January raid for £40 million Everton pair
Latest reports from England reveals that Manchester United are ready to pay a combined fee of £40 million for Everton pair – Leighton Baines and Ross Barkley. Manchester United were linked with a summer move for Baines and Fellaini but only managed to sign the latter on deadline day.
The Red Devils are not yet ready to give up on the English left back. Along with Baines, they are also monitoring Everton’s new wonder kid Ross Barkley. Barkley came into spotlight after producing some sensational performances for the toffees this season.
Manchester United boss David Moyes was the one who gave Barkley his Goodison Park debut. United believe that Moyes can easily convince the rising star to reunite with him at Old Trafford. But Barkley has clearly stated that he is happy at Everton and not thinking about any move away from Goodison Park.
He said in a recent interview, ”I’m young, I feel like playing every game and, for me, the more games the better. It’s been a good start to the season but I’m hoping to get better as it goes on.”
Chelsea and Manchester City are also keeping tabs on Barkley who is contracted to Everton till 2016.
