Rumour: Once promising youngster Jack Rodwell to return to Everton this summer
Everton are likely bail former player Jack Rodwell out from his misery at Manchester City by snapping him up in the summer.
The promising youngster rose to prominence at The Goodison Park under David Moyes, and was subsequently coveted by several top Premier League clubs like Chelsea and Manchester United.
The Englishman eventually secured his dream move to the Etihad in 2012, but did not get enough opportunities to show his potential. He has started only 11 matches for the Citizens in the last 2 seasons.
The Merseyside club are ready to offer their former youth prodigy an escape route, and are expected to bid for the midfielder if on-loan Gareth Barry does not make his move to the club permanent.
Considering the budget constraints at Everton, Roberto Martinez will look to acquire him in a bargain deal given the player does not feature significantly in Manchester City’s long-term plans.
