Player previously on-loan at Barcelona offered to Serie A duo amid interest from the Blaugrana - Reports
Manchester City full-back Joao Cancelo - who was on loan at Barcelona last season - is reportedly being offered to Inter Milan and Juventus, with the Blaugrana also interested in his services. Cancelo, 30, is coming off a quarter-final finish with Portugal at the ongoing UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany.
The City player had a decent campaign - contributing an assist in four games - following an impressive season with the Blaugrana - where he bagged four goals and five assists in 40 games across competitions.
Six of those goal contributions - two goals and four assists in 30 games - came in La Liga, where the Blaugrana were pipped to the title by Real Madrid. The other goal contributions came in 10 games in the UEFA Champions League, where the La Liga giants lost 6-4 on aggregate to PSG in the quarter-finals.
Now back at his current club - where he's contracted till 2027 - he doesn't seem to have a future at the Etihad. As per Sportsmediaset (via Barca Blaugranes), the player's agent has offered Cancelo to the aforementioned two Serie A sides despite Barca also in the fray to 'test the waters'.
As per Transfermarkt, Cancelo's market price is €25 million, but the Blaugrana are apparently not in the reckoning due to the finances involved in a potential permanent move, considering their well-documented financial woes.
How many Barcelona players are still active at Euro 2024?
Euro 2024 is into the semi-final stage, with three-time champions Spain to take on two-time winners France, while Euro 2020 finalists England lock horns with 1988 champions Netherlands.
An impressive five Barcelona players are still involved in the quadrennial continental competition. Four of them - Lamine Yamal, Pedri, Ferran Torres and Fermin Lopez - will look to guide Spain to their first Euro final in 12 years as they take on France on Tuesday (July 9) in Munich.
The other Blaugrana player - Jules Kounde - will also be in action in the same game. It's pertinent to note that another player from the club - Ronald Araujo - has helped Uruguay to the 2024 Copa America semi-finals, where they take on Colombia in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Wednesday (July 10).
