Rumour: Paris Saint-Germain to block offers for Edinson Cavani

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly planning to resist any Premier League overtures for Edinson Cavani this summer, according to Goal, with reports strongly linking both Chelsea and Manchester United with big money moves for the striker.

The Uruguayan has been claimed to be unhappy in the French capital, as he finds himself often shunted into a more supporting role behind Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Cavani has claimed that he is happy with life in France publicly, but sources close to him believe that he is keen to make a swift exit from the French champions, having only signed from Napoli last summer in a €53 million deal.

While some reports claimed PSG would be looking to recoup their outlay on the forward, it is now believed that they will reject all and any offers made as they are keen to keep him in Ligue 1.

United were keen to bring him to Old Trafford as part of their massive summer rebuild, while Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has made it clear a world-class striker is his priority for summer transfers after being caught publicly bemoaning his current forward options.

Real Madrid have also been linked as Florentino Perez has sanctioned a move for a top-class striker to take the pressure off Karim Benzema, but PSG want Cavani to remain with them for at least one more season before they even consider a sale.
