PSG chief Nasser Al-Khelaifi makes €95 million offer to sign Arsenal star: Reports

PSG are reportedly planning a mega offer to bring Arsenal centre-back William Saliba back to France. The Frenchman has been a key player for the Gunners since making his first-team debut in 2022-23.

In 96 appearances across competitions, he has contributed five goals and two assists. Last season, he played all 38 league games - scoring twice and assisting once - as the Gunners kept the Premier League title race alive till the final matchday of the campaign before finishing behind Manchester City.

Although he's yet to make a goal contribution this season, Saliba has played 13 times across competitions. That includes nine games in the league, where Mikel Arteta's side are fifth, seven points behind leaders Liverpool (25), having gone winless in their last three.

Saliba, 23, is contracted to the Emirates till 2027, but as per El Nacional, Parisians chief Nasser Al Khelaifi have offered €95 million to the Gunners to bolster Luis Enrique's roster. However, it appears unlikely that Arteta's side would let their prized asset leave, considering his importance to the side.

Having finished Premier League runners-up in the last two seasons, Saliba and Co. are looking to end a league title drought spanning more than two decades. The Gunners won their latest Premier League title in 2003-04, producing a memorable unbeaten campaign.

Arsenal have slipped up in recent games following a bright start to the season, especially in the Premier League. Having suffered their first defeat of the campaign in a 2-0 league loss at Bournemouth, the Gunners drew 2-2 at Liverpool ahead of their UEFA Champions League trip to Inter Milan on Wednesday (November 6).

In their most recent outing last weekend, though, Mikel Arteta's side slumped to a 1-0 loss at Newcastle United to slip out of the top-four. In Europe, though, the Gunners are going strong.

After opening their UEFA Champions League campaign with a goalless draw at reigning UEFA Europa League winners Atalanta, Arteta's side beat PSG 2-0 at home before beating Shakhtar Donetsk 1-0 at home. The two wins see the Gunners move up to ninth in the new-look 36-team league phase.

In the EFL Cup as well, the Gunners have started well. Following a 5-1 home win at Bolton Wanderers, they won 3-0 at Preston North End. They next take on Crystal Palace at home next month for a place in the semi-final.
