Rumour: PSG star tried to lure Eden Hazard to France
Thiago Silva has, unsurprisingly, suggested he would be keen for Eden Hazard to join Paris St Germain in the summer, amid rumours that the Ligue 1 leaders are set to launch a mega-money bid for the Belgian.
Hazard has had a fine season at Chelsea this campaign, having taken his personal goal tally up to 12 with a marvellous hat-trick against Newcastle to take the Blues top of the Premier League table.
And Silva has seen enough of the Belgian flyer to feel that he would be a welcome addition to the PSG squad as they look to build a team capable of challenging for European honours.
Silva told the media ahead of their crucial clash with Monaco, “It is normal that a president discusses transfers with the players.
“When there is a new name in the press, the president (Nasser Al-Khelaifi) discusses it with us. Sometimes I speak directly with Zlatan (Ibrahimovic). It’s normal to ask ourselves if a player can make us stronger.
“I would welcome Hazard with open arms, like we did all recruits. We need players like him to achieve our project and win everything. He is so strong tactically and technically. All the great players are welcome in Paris.”
Thiago Silva has won a massive 77% of his aerial duels this season and completed an average of 93% of his passes as PSG have marched to the top of the table.
