Rumour: Real Madrid interested in Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos

Toni Kroos : Waving them goodbye ?

Bayern Munich’s unsettled midfielder Toni Kroos is eyeing a potential switch to Real Madrid, after reports suggest that the newly crowned European Champions have made initial contact for the German playmaker. The 24 year old has become one of Europe’s most sought after players, following a scintillating season, where he helped Bayern secure their Bundesliga and DFB Pokal double.

However, a breakdown in talks over a new contract has alerted clubs across Europe, with Pep Guardiola ready to cash in on his star man. Manchester United’s new boss, Louis Van Gaal who has been awarded a massive £200 million warchest, is an admirer of the German’s talent, and had expressed his interest in securing Kroos’ services.

Unfortunately, their inability to offer Champions League football this term has put Real Madrid in pole position to sign the German international, should he decide to leave the Bundesliga champions. Chelsea had entered the fray too, but it seems they have now turned their attention to Barcelona’s Cesc Fabregas, who has been asked to find a new club.

With Thiago Alacantra set to return from injury, Bayern Munich would be willing to listen to offers from clubs, who are ready to meet their valuation of £25 million for Kroos, who is entering the last year of his contract with the Bavarians.
