Real Madrid ready to pay €30-35m to sign superstar from European rivals - Reports
Real Madrid are reportedly contemplating snapping up Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies. The 23-year-old has been with the Bavarian giants since the 2018-19 season.
Davies has had a solid 2023-24 campaign despite his club enduring their first trophyless season since 2011-12. They lost their 12-year Bundesliga stranglehold to unbeaten champions Bayer Leverkusen, lost early in the DFB-Pokal and got knocked out of the UEFA Champions League semifinals by Los Blancos.
In the second leg of that tie at the Santiago Bernabeu earlier this month, Davies opened the scoring midway through the second half with a brilliant effort. However, Los Blancos substitute Joselu scored twice late on off the bench to put Carlo Ancelotti's side into another Champions League final, denying a Bayern-Borussia Dortmund all-German title match.
Despite his contract at the Allianz Arena expiring in 2025, there has been little progress in talks of an extension with Bayern. As such, the Bavarian giants could offload the Canadian this summer, and Los Blancos plan to test their resolve with a bid of €30-35 million (as per Relevo via Madrid Xtra).
Davies - who struck twice and provided six assists in 29 Bundesliga games in the recently concluded season - would reunite with his former Bayern teammate David Alaba if he moves to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid are into their second UEFA Champions League final in three years following their rousing 4-3 comeback win over Bayern Munich in the semifinals.
They now eye a record-extending 15th title in the competition when they take on Borussia Dortmund in the final at the Wembley in London on Saturday (June 1). In 14 meetings in the competition with BvB, Los Blancos have won six times and lost just thrice.
That includes wins in the group stage of the 2017-18 edition, where Los Blancos went all the way. Meanwhile, it's BvB's first Champions League final since losing 2-1 at the Wembley in the 2013 final. They are seeking their first title in the competition in nearly three decades, since winning in 1997.
