Serie A manager asks club to sign Manchester United star Scott McTominay - Reports
According to journalist Alfredo Pedulla, new Napoli boss Antonio Conte wants the club to sign Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay this summer. Pedulla says there has been a meeting between Napoli and the player's agency, and another is expected to take place soon.
McTominay is a product of United's academynand has made 253 appearances across competitions, scoring 29 goals and providing eight assists. Last season, he was an unexpected goalscoring source for the Red Devils, netting 10 times and providing three assists in 43 outings across competitions.
The Scot, though, is in the final year of his Manchester United contract. He could be one of the players sacrificed as new minority owners INEOS look to build the core of the squad.
Napoli's interest could make matters interesting. McTominay has a market value of €32 million, as per Transfermarkt. He's not a starter at United, something he could become in the Serie A.
Moreover, playing under Conte could also tempt McTominay. He has shown the ability to thrive under managers that put their trust in him. Jose Mourinho got the best out of the midfielder, and Conte could repeat the trick.

ESPN says that Scott McTominay is aware of Napoli's interest and that the offer is reportedly under consideration. Other clubs have also shown interest in the 27-year-old Manchester United midfielder.
Fulham have shown their interest but have had two bids rejected in recent weeks. Meanwhile, Galatasaray have also been touted as among the interested parties for the midfielder.
McTominay has options, and his uture remains under the scanner. Manchester United, meanwhile, have made significant movements during the summer transfer window.
They have brought in Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna to bolster the attack. Prodigy Leny Yoro has joined from LOSC Lille, while Matthijs de Ligt is a blockbuster defensive signing from Bayern Munich. Right-back Noussair Mazraoui has also arrived from Bayern.
The club have been linked with a new defensive midfielder, and reports suggest Manuel Ugarte is boss Erik ten Hag's firsts choice. However, there could be outgoings before the end of the summer transfer window.
McTominay is one of the players expected to leave, and the Red Devils would reportedly prefer parting ways with the player in a permanent deal than a loan move.
