Rumour: Spurs set to splash the cash in a bid to land Italian forward

Tottenham are rumoured to be keen on landing Fiorentina striker, Giuseppe Rossi, with a bid in the range of 30 million pounds.

Spurs have had an erratic start to the new campaign, and are now languishing at ninth in the table. They have had a woeful time in front of goal, scoring only 11 goals so far, less than a goal per game.

Their summer spending has not yielded much, with Spanish forward, Roberto Soldado yet to find his feet in English football. Brazil mid-fielder Paulinho, and record signing, Eric Lamela have yet to impress, with the Danish play-maker Eriksen, sidelined for over two months.

Chairman Daniel Levy is said to be a long time admirer of the forward, trying to sign him even when he played his trade in Spain, with Villereal. The 26 year old, former United player, has a contract until 2017, with a buy-out clause of 30 million pounds.

It could be the perfect move for Spurs, with Jermaine Defoe set to leave the club this summer, and Emmanual Adebayor who is out of favour under the current regime.

If the move does materialise, Spurs will have a proven goal scorer in their ranks, and can really push in their endeavour for top honours.
