Turkish club eyeing up move for 19-year-old Chelsea star this summer - Reports

Turkish giants Besiktas are reportedly looking to snap up Chelsea winger Angelo. The 19-year-old arrived at Stamford Bridge from Santos last summer and was immediately loaned out to Strasbourg.

Angelo appeared 25 times across competitions for the Ligue 1 side, contributing four assists. All four goal contributions came in 21 outings in the league, where Strasbourg finished 13th, with 39 points from 34 games.

Back at his parent club, Angelo is being linked with an exit, having not yet made his first-team debut for the Blues. As per Sabah Spor (via Tribal Football), Besiktas have made a loan offer for the Brazilian.

The Blues have been very active in the transfer market this summer, with the BBC reporting a spending of £243 million on 11 new arrivals. That has resulted in a squad of 55 members - including 14 reported departees.

Enzo Maresca has arrived at the Stamford Bridge helm this summer after guiding Leicester City back to the Premier League on their first attempt by winning the Championship.

The Italian - who has replaced Mauricio Pochettino - will look to improve on his predecessor's sixth-placed Premier League finish and possibly guide the Blues back to the UEFA Champions League - which they won as recently as 2021.

Chelsea commence their 2024-25 Premier League campaign by hosting four-time defending champions Manchester City on Sunday (August 18). Having won the last five games in the previous season, the Blues will look to kick off the Enzo Maresca era with an upset of the holders.

The Blues had a mixed pre-season. After drawing 2-2 with Wrexham at the Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, they lost 4-1 to Celtic at the Notre Dame Stadium in Indiana.

Maresca's side brought up their first win of the pre-season by thumping Club America 3-0 at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta before losing 4-2 to Manchester City at the Ohio Stadium in Columbus.

Their losing run continued, as they fell 2-1 to reigning La Liga and UEFA Champions League winners Real Madrid at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte to conclude their US tour.

In their final pre-season game, the Blues drew 1-1 with reigning Serie A winners Inter Milan at Stamford Bridge on Sunday (August 11). Their next outing is the 2024-25 Premier League opener against Pep Guardiola's Manchester City, who have won six of the last seven top-flight titles.
