Salgaocar SC continues their dream signings.
Salgaocar Sports Club signed Angel Guirado, a Philippines international in a one year deal for the upcoming 2012-13 season. The 27—years old Spanish born player is expected to be a huge signing for the Goan side. Meanwhile, as per rule, Salgaocar have released another foreigner Jagaba Hamza, who is expected to sign for Vasco Sports Club.
Starting his career for Malaga FC Juniors in 1997, this 6’2’’ striker has played several matches in Spanish second and third division. He was also in the squad of Deportivo La Coruna in the season 2006-07. He also represented Philippines at the international level. He has scored two goals for Philippines in the last AFC Challenge Cup, held at Kathmandu, Nepal.
Earlier this week, Salgaocar had already signed another Aussie star Sean Rooney. As per the rules of foreigners and Asian quota players, the former I-League champions released Nigerian striker Jagaba Hamza.
Salgaocar coach Karim Bencharifa seems quite excited regarding his two recent signings of foreigners. He told in a meeting, “Initially, we were looking for an Asian player and we got two on trials. Both looked impressive while Hamza did okay. So we sat with Hamza and explained to him the situation. We parted amicably and it was a win-win situation,”
On Guirado he told, “Angel is a tall player with good physical presence and competent skills; he will give me lot of options as a striker”.
