Reports: Saphir Taider set for move to Sassuolo after only 3 weeks at Southampton
According to reports. Southampton are set to bid adieu to Saphir Taider only three weeks after signing the midfielder on a season long loan, with a view to signing permanently from Inter Milan.
The deal also included Daniel Osvaldo moving in the opposite direction after the controversial Italian had failed to show up for Southampton’s pre-season.
Taider, who signed on the dotted lines for the Saints on August 6 is seemingly set to pack his bags after failing to adjust to life at the south coast of England. The 22-year old has not yet made his competitive debut for the Saints and it seems it will remain that way as the Algerian seems set to fly off to Italy to join Serie A side Sassuolo on another loan deal.
The Algerian international is said to have failed in gelling in with the rest of the Saints squad as well as the work ethic demanded of him by Southamptopn’s new coach Ronald Koeman.
Taider came to light during Algeria’s brilliant run in the World Cup which saw the Africans make it through to the knock-out stages of the competition.
It was believed that the Saints had got a real bargain in Taider. But 23 days on and the transfer seems farcical with the Algerian set for a departure without even kicking a ball for Southampton in what will be remembered as one of the shortest stays in the Premier League in recent seasons.
His movement back to Italy is said to have no effect on Dani Osvaldo’s loan situation.
