Serge Aurier welcomes interest from French giants PSG and AS Monaco
The 23 year old defender was linked with a move to the Emirates stadium before the FIFA 2014 World Cup started but the deal has been stalled since then. Arsenal have now set sights on new target in the form of Newcastle’s Mathieu Debuchy and many media outlets are reporting that the signing could be done within the next week.
Serge Aurier, playing for Toulouse FC in southwest of France, represented Ivory Coast in the World Cup and impressed all the spectators with his brilliant performances on the right flank. Since then, there is no news regarding Aurier’s move to North London as Mathieu Debuchy emerged as the readymade replacement for his French compatriot Bacary Sagna, who joined Manchester City on a free transfer after 8 successful years with the Gunners.
The Toulouse FC right back is now linked with a move to big money spenders Paris Saint Germain & AS Monaco. Aurier confirmed the interest & was quoted in footmercato as:
"I have heard of PSG's interest. They are a very good club, one of Europe's best. They are in the top 8. It is interesting to know that the club with the means to buy anyone they want are interested in me. I am also Parisian. Apart from that, I will let the people around me take care of it.”
Despite interest from French giants, Aurier wants to play in the English Premier League. He continued:
"People said I had already signed an agreement with Arsenal. This is not true. All I can say is that I like EPL the most. Playing in England is a dream, but sometimes they do not materialise. If PSG or AS Monaco are keen, I won't ignore that. PSG & AS Monaco can meet my representatives. We will see what happens. What I want is a club where I am guaranteed to play."
