Serie A: Franco Baldini leaves Roma, may join Spurs
Franco Baldini, General Manager of Italian club A.S. Roma has reportedly left the club. He joined the club in 2011 after leaving his job as assistant manager under Fabio Capello for the England national team, but left after they successfully qualified for EURO 2012.
“We thank Franco Baldini for his service to AS Roma over the past two seasons,” said Roma President James Pallotta.
“He played an important role in the launch of our project. We wish him well in his future endeavors.”
Andre Villas-Boas is interested in expanding his backroom staff at Tottenham and is said to be keen to bring in Baldini as Technical Director.
Walter Sabatini, Director of Sport, will be in charge of transfer negotiations for Roma.
Baldini while speaking to the medai said: “I want to thank the owners of AS Roma for the opportunity that was given to me.
“I was very happy at Roma and wish the club, players and fans all the best.”
