Serie A not among top leagues: Alessandro Nesta
Former Italy international Alessandro Nesta does not think Serie A is among the top leagues any more. He also believes that the Italian Leagues decline in quality is due to lack of money.
“There’s no money in Italy at the moment and the best players go to play in other leagues- Spain, England, Germany. Italy is going down,” said Nesta.
He, however, is all praise for the new Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti. “He is the best coach for Madrid. Madrid is a difficult place to coach. There’s a lot of pressure and Ancelotti is very good when he is under pressure.”
Talking about Ancelotti’s A. C. Milan days, he added “Berlusconi and Galliani, all the time, wanted the best for the team.
The pressure was very, very hard but Carlo Ancelotti, everyday, had a smile. He was perfect.”
Nesta is also happy about Juventus signing Carlos Tevez.
“It’s a very good signing. A player like Tevez, I didn’t think would play in Serie A now. Juventus did a good job,” he said. Nesta, who is currently playing in Major League Soccer for Montreal Impact, has also said that he wants to become a coach when he retires.
