Shirt sales: Barcelona top list for 2015/16, Chelsea highest among English clubs
Chelsea might not have had a great season in the Premier League but they have done remarkably well in certain financial aspects. The club have recorded the highest shirt sales and have overtaken Manchester United as well.
The Blues have managed to sell 3,102,000 shirts worldwide and are only behind Barcelona and Bayern Munich in the standings. United were earlier the highest in shirt sales but have slipped behind their London rivals.
The Red Devils normally are top of the charts in shirt sales but surprisingly have fallen behind Chelsea. The club can still boast an increase of 34% from last season which is a very good increase in profit.
Chelsea can claim the second highest rise from last season among clubs in this list with a massive increase of 39% from last year’s sales. It comes as a bit of a surprise considering they did not sign too many new players this season.
Only Bayern Munich have a higher rise in shirt sales than Chelsea. Barcelona are unsurprisingly top of this table. With stars like Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar in their ranks the popularity of the club has risen dramatically over the past few years
Real Madrid have not done too well in this department ranking fifth in the list. They can only record an 11% increase in sales from last season which is a very average return considering the status of the club.
Milan and Juventus are the only Italian clubs in this list taking the 9th and 10th spot. Arsenal are the third English club on this list and are behind French giants PSG in 7th.
