Silvio Berlusconi had threatened not to pay AC Milan players due to dismal form

AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi

AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi scolded his footballers and threatened not to pay them if they do not get better results, according to a video released by the Gazzetta dello Sport.

Milan finished seventh in the Serie A this season, with 15 wins and 11 losses from 38 games. They won their last Serie A title in the 2010-11 season, reports Efe.

Milan, the most successful club in European history after Real Madrid, have not played in UEFA Champions League in the last two years.

They face record Serie A champions Juventus in the Coppa Italia final on Saturday.

"We cannot keep on being embarrassing," Berlusconi says in the video recorded a few months ago, though the contents were only made public on Thursday.

"These gentlemen here are the ones who allow you to make a living. They told me if you keep playing like this, they won't give us any more money," he said.

"In that case, I'll get the money from you, or rather I won't pay you! You can try suing me. Do you know how long a civil court case usually takes in Italy? About eight years," Berlusconi added.
