SK Quick Fix: Top 5 stories of the day – 16 November, 2016

Yes. This is actually how they all stood.

Quick Fix brings to you the top 5 news stories of the day – all in one place so that you can get a gist of all that happened in the world of football in just one go.

Another day, another magical Messi performance. Except, this time, he was wearing an Argentina shirt. Inspiring La Albiceleste to a 3-0 win over an in-form Colombia, he continued to hog headlines. Our top story of the day includes him, but for a reason that is not even remotely connected to the round little thing he kicks around so very well -

After some accusations of drug (marijuana) use were leveled against Ezequiel Lavezzi, Messi led out the entire team to the press conference and declare that they wouldn't be speaking to the media anymore (and then they all put the footballs under their arms and went home - *sigh*)

“We are here to let you know that we will no longer be communicating with the press. The accusations (of smoking a joint) that were made towards Lavezzi were huge. Can we go a day without mentioning the rivalry of rivalries that is Cristiano Ronaldo versus Leo Messi? Apparently Sevilla's rock-at-the-back feels we shouldn't. He has his say on the rivalry that is defining football in this millennium

#4. Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester City come together to hire private jet to bring back Brazilian stars

You think you are the only using vehicle-pooling? The English giants combined to pitch in GBP 30,000 each (a mite more than my trip to office today) and ferry in their players from Brazil. If this isn't in the spirit of Fairplay, I don't know what is

#5. Messi masterclass puts Argentina back on World Cup track

Yeah. Him again. But this time for his incredible exploits on the field. With a wonderful (freekick) goal, and two superb assists – Messi was at his inimitable best against Colombia.
