Sorbon ends Caen love affair to join Guingamp

Central defender and club captain Jeremy Sorbon ended a nine-year spell with Ligue 2 side Caen to join newly-promoted Ligue 1 outfit Guingamp on Wednesday on a free transfer.

The 29-year-old – who came through the Caen youth academy and made almost 300 appearances for the first team – signed a two-year contract with Guingamp with the option of extending it by a further year.

Sorbon, who was part of the Caen side that reached the 2005 League Cup final, opted to leave after Caen just missed out on an immediate return to the top tier as they finished fourth.
