Spain vs Georgia Head-to-Head stats and numbers you need to know before Match 39 of UEFA Euro 2024

Spain will square off against Georgia at the RheinEnergieStadion in a UEFA Euro 2024 round-of-16 clash on Sunday. The 2012 champions enjoyed a 100% record in the group stage and finished atop the Group B table.

Georgia defeated Portugal in their final group stage match to earn a place in the knockout round in their debut.

La Roja were the only team to win all three games in the group stage and were the only team to keep clean sheets in these games. They made it to the semifinals in Euro 2020 and will look to improve upon that record.

The Crusaders registered a historic 2-0 win over Portugal in a do-or-die match earlier this week to finish third in the Group F table and qualify for the knockout stage as one of the best third-placed teams in the group stage.

They have displayed consistent improvement in every game in the competition thus far. They suffered a 3-1 loss to Turkey in their campaign opener and drew 1-1 against the Czech Republic before winning their final group-stage match.

Georgia have already pulled off one of the biggest upsets in the European Championship and will look to build on that form and defeat the three-time winners here.

Rodri is back from a suspension and should start here while the Crusaders will be without the services of Anzor Mekvabishvili, who is suspended.

The two teams met in the Euro 2024 qualifying campaign last year, with Spain registering a 10-2 win on aggregate. Georgia have scored one goal apiece in four of their last five meetings against La Roja.

Spain vs Georgia: Numbers you need to know before their UEFA Euro 2024 encounter

La Roja have suffered just three losses in their last 25 games in the European Championship, with one of them coming on penalties. They have scored in all but two of their last 14 games in the competition and will look to build on that form.

Interestingly, they have been eliminated from the round of 16 of their last three major competitions (Euro 2016 and FIFA World Cup in 2018 and 2022).

Jvarosnebi have had an impressive debut in the competition, scoring in all three group-stage games. They have suffered just one loss across all competitions in 2024. Wales made it to semifinals in their debut in the 2016 edition, while Iceland made it to the quarterfinals. Georgia can become just the third side to make it to the quarterfinals in their debut if they manage to upset the Spanish.
