Sporting Kansas City win MLS title

Washington, Dec 8 (IANS) Sporting Kansas City outscored Real Salt Lake (RSL) to claim their second MLS (Major League Soccer) title.

Aurenlien Collin levelled the score in regular time before slotting in the final penalty to help his team win the match and the title Saturday, reports Xinhua.

Alvaro Saborio scored in the 52nd minute to give RSL a 1-0 lead but Collin tied the score in the 76th minute.

The match remained 1-1 after 120 minutes and went into the third penalty kick shootout in MLS Cup history.

The two sides were level until 6-6 but Collin’s successful penalty ended the match.
