Sports: The week that will be (22nd Oct – 28th Oct)

Last week of October and we’re celebrating Saina Nehwal’s victory in the Denmark Open whilst getting ready for the final lap of the CL T20, resuming normal service in the English Premier League and La Liga, and anticipating the power packed Indian Grand Prix.

Cricket:

The Champions League T20 continues as we get a clearer idea about which teams are making it to the semi-finals this time around. The IPL teams have generally disappointed and whatever little resistance they put up, proved to be too little too late.

Swiss Indoors Basel: 5 time champion Roger Federer and Del Potro will be the main contenders while Gasquet and Wawrinka will look to grab the 3 spots left in the season ending Barclays ATP World Tour Finals.

Badminton:

World No. 4 Saina Nehwal is the top seed for the Yonex French Open Badminton 2012 Super Series event, which starts at the Stade Pierre de Coubertin in Paris on Tuesday.

Chinese trio Wang Yihan, Li Xuerui and Wang Xin miss out, and this gives Saina an almost free reign to go all the way.

Formula 1:



The Indian Grand Prix comes at a critical time in the championship race as the leader Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull holds a narrow 6 point lead over second placed Fernando Alonso of Ferrari.
The Buddh International Circuit will be decked up with the crème de la crème of Bollywood and music  as the organisers seek to provide as much entertainment before as the racers provide during the race.
