Sportskeeda's take on the EPL transfer rumours of 20th June
The transfer window can be a very exciting period for football fans, with clubs linked to a number of players every year. Newspapers and media love publishing rumors, some real and some imaginary. At Sportskeeda, we try to bring the correct and reliable information to you, and in our latest section on transfers, we’ll do an in-depth analysis on the rumours flying around.
Alvaro Morata
We start with Juventus star Alvaro Morata, who is expected to head back to Real Madrid this summer. The La Liga giants have an option to buy him back for €30m from July 1st to July 15th this year, but reports suggest he could be sold to another club for a profit.
Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, and Manchester United have been linked with a move for the Spaniard, but latest report on Spanish website AS claim Real Madrid have decided to keep Morata as Benzema’s understudy for next season.
Twitter says:
I was saying yesterday that morata would be a good signing for united but just get that horrible Vidal saga all over again

Morata would be a far too good signing for Chelsea, we can't let that happen

Experts say: The player was most recently linked to Manchester United, but experts from the club have nothing to say on this. Things are likely to be more clear, once the future of Zlatan Ibrahimovic is decided.
Our take: Alvaro Morata should stay at Real Madrid next season. The 23-year-old would give Zinedine Zidane more options up front, and would definitely be an upgrade on Jese Rodriguez. The player is also keen to stay at his boyhood club, and his impressive performances at the Euros means Real Madrid would also want to keep him for at least next season. A crazy transfer offer from a Premier League side could be tempting, but that is also very unlikely.
Chance of happening on 10: 3/10
Mateo Kovacic
Next on the list is Real Madrid star Mateo Kovacic, who has been linked with a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu. The Croatian midfielder was strongly linked with a move to Liverpool last summer before he headed out to Real Madrid. Italian journalist Gianluca di Marzio claims Liverpool are set to try their luck once again and are strongly interested in signing the 22-year-old.
Twitter says:
Imagine actually identifying Kovacic, bidding for him, agreeing personal terms and completing a deal smoothly. Someday that will happen.

So the echo dismiss the Kovacic links and some random Italian journo links Hamsik to LFC. Overkill?
— Klopp (@BundesligaLFC) June 19, 2016
Experts say: Rumours of Liverpool interested in signing Kovacic last summer mostly came from the Italian media, and that seems to be the case this summer too. Liverpool Echo journalist James Pearce and others close to the club denied that the Merseyside club is interested in the Croatian international last summer, and have denied it again last night.
Our take: Italian journalist Gianluca di Marzio can be reliable at times, and not so much sometimes. The Sky Sports journalist has got a lot of information wrong when it comes to transfers related to Liverpool, and it looks like he has bottled it again. Liverpool have set their eyes on Polish midfielder Piotr Zielinski, and German midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud, and a deal for them looks more likely.

Ramiro Funes Mori
Finally, reports in the Spanish media claim Barcelona’s sporting director, Robert Fernandez, has been watching Everton star Ramiro Funes Mori at the Copa America. It is reported that Funes Mori is a long-term target for Barcelona, and could be a ‘good bet’ for the future.
Twitter says:
Is it April fools day again? Barcelona and the Mancs want 23m Mori!!!!Get him in a cab now! Quickly before they change there mind! Lol lol
— Mart Bray (@evertonianbray1) June 20, 2016
Why is funes mori getting linked with barca? Haha
— Shaun P (@Pagga88) June 20, 2016
Experts say: The Experts are quite silent on this one too, as it seems the Spanish media are just trying to fill their columns.
Our take: Fernandez has categorically denied the possibility of signing Funes Mori this season, and that was very much expected. The Argentine defender was quite average for Everton this season and did nothing special to earn a move to Barcelona.
