Spurs set to miss out on Damiao

Leandro Damiao

North London club Tottenham Hotspurs are set to miss out on long-term striker target, Leandro Damiao, according to various reports in Italy. The forward, who plays for Brazilian side Internacional, was a target for ex-Spurs boss, Harry Redknapp, but also caught AVB’s attention who bid for the striker in the January transfer window. The negotiations went on till the last day, but a mutual fee couldn’t be agreed upon.

Now, however, the forward is set to put pen to paper on a deal that’ll take him to Napoli in Serie A. This move only shines more light on the fact that present Napoli striker, Edinson Cavani, might leave. Cavani is subject to interest from Premier League boys Manchester City, along with Spanish giants, Real Madrid.

Tottenham are now forced to look elsewhere to aid in their search for a top striker. Emmanuel Adebayor and Jermain Defoe haven’t been in the best of form and have struggled to put the ball in the back of the net, so AVB is desperate to add more firepower.
