Brazilian legend Ronaldo picks Maradona, Zidane and Messi in his Dream XI
Former Brazilian forward Ronaldo has picked his Dream football XI, filled with a galaxy of stars. The 38-year-old, who was part of the Brazil side that won the Worl Cup in 2002, and even scored a brace in the final against Germany, had quite a successful time in club football as well, where he represented both La Liga giants- Real Madrid and FC Barcelona and Italian heavyweights-Inter Milan and AC Milan.
In a club career spanning almost two decades, Ronaldo played 518 games and scored a total of 352 goals.He represented his country on 98 occasions and scored 62 goals.
While choosing his side, Ronaldo has opted for a 3-4-3 formation with Jose Angel Iribar guarding the goal.
The defence will be marshaled by two World Cup winners-Franz Beckenbauer and Cafu who will occupy the central and right-back position respectively.Joining them on the left is former star and Italian legend Paulo Maldini.
The strike force picked by Ronaldo also looks impressive with Brazilian legend and fellow countrymen-Pele on the left, He teams up with the superstar of this generation Lionel Messi on the right and legendary Argentinian striker Alfredo Di Stefano will occupy the centre forward position.
But the interesting aspect about the XI is Ronaldo opting to go for a diamond formation in the midfield. 2 legends in Diego Maradona and Johan Cruyff on the left and right respectively while French legend and someone with whom Ronaldo himself played, Zinedine Zidane and one of the contemporary greats Xavi finishing the diamond.
