Stats: Arsenal vs Bayern Munich

After a rather exciting match between two giants, here are the much awaited stats of the game. The stats do not entirely show the game, obviously.

In a nutshell, the English were just outclassed by the Germans, leaving them dumb-struck.

From the beginning, Bayern Munich was on the attack, keeping the Gunners on the back foot. But the English side did catch the Germans on the break, followed by some excellent passing. A fairly good portion of the action was in the midfield which saw Jack Wilshere doing what he does best, and a really good link-up between Kroos and the Bayern strikers.

Strikes from Toni Kroos and Thomas Muller gifted the German side a delightful 2-0 lead under 25 minutes. Although, Lukas Podolski did give Arsenal a glimpse of hope by scoring in the 55th minute, Mario Mandzukic sealed the match by scoring for the Germans in 77th minute.

The stats show that Bayern Munich really meant business and were ready to go all out to win the tournament. Their hunger to score as many goals as possible and the desire to keep Arsenal from gaining any momentum is very evident from the stats.

In the end, the German side ended the night with a very crucial win, leaving Arsene Wenger extremely disappointed and left with no other option but to come up with another, and hopefully better, strategy to beat the mighty Germans.
