Stats: Europe's top attacking duos - Barcelona's Luis Suarez and Neymar most potent

Barcelona duo Luis Suarez and Neymar are Europe's most potent

Barcelona pair, Luis Suarez and Neymar, are Europe's most dangerous duo in terms of assists set up and goals scored. Part of the potent 'MSN', the Uruguayan and Brasilian are above the Premier League's most potent pair: Arsenal duo, Olivier Giroud and Mesut Ozil.

Out of the thirteen pairs that have made significant strides attacking-wise, six of those come from the Premier League outlining the pulling power of the league. The six include two pairs from Leicester – Jamie Vardy with Riyad Mahrez and Riyad Mahrez with Marc Albrighton – and two pairs from Everton with Romelu Lukaku being the common link between Gerard Deulofeu and Arouna Kone.

Apart from having Barcelona on the top, La Liga boasts of three other teams: Villareal, Atletic Bilbao and Real Madrid – who are the last team on the list. The Serie A is next with two teams making the cut: league leaders, Napoli, and Fiorentina.

Ligue 1 has only one represent in Paris Saint Germain and surprisingly, it doesn't include former Real Madrid and Manchester United midfielder, Angel di Maria. There's Zlatan Ibrahimovic along with strike partner Edinson Cavani.

The biggest miss from this list perhaps is that of five time FIFA Ballon D'Or winner, Lionel Messi, who was out for a significant chunk of the season with a knee ligament injury he sustained early on.

Real Madrid have scored ten goals in their last two matches under Zinedine Zidane but failed to make an attacking impact while under the stewardship of former Liverpool, Chelsea and Napoli manager, Rafael Benitez. Cristiano Ronaldo makes the list but does it with fellow record-breaker, Gareth Bale.

Real Madrid have been chasing Barcelona and local rivals, Atletico Madrid, this whole season sitting third in the La Liga table. Barcelona sit second, two points behind Atletico albeit with a game in hand. Given how Suarez, Neymar and Messi are performing this season, it won't be too long before the Catalans retake the summit.
