Stats: Which is the most competitive League in Europe?

While many say that the Premier League is probably the most competitive League in Europe, the numbers tell a different story.

In terms of the number of champions each League has produced since 2000, it is France’s Ligue 1 that has been the most competitive – especially in the last 6 seasons which has seen 6 different champions!

The Bundesliga comes second with 5 different champions over the last few years. Spain’s La Liga, as expected, has been a predominantly two-horse race between Barcelona and Real Madrid with Valencia winning only twice in the early 2000s.
