EPL 2016/17: Stats show that Liverpool are the most improved big team in the Premier League

Liverpool are on the rise

Liverpool are the most improved big team in the Premier League from last season ahead of even Chelsea who were abysmal last time around. Jurgen Klopp has turned the club around in spectacular fashion in his first full season in charge at Anfield. Although Chelsea lead the Premier League table currently and have improved considerably from last season, the statistics show Liverpool as the team that has turned it around the best.

Reds second to only Watford

The Reds have 9 points more than they did at the same stage last season i.e the same number of fixtures and are second only to Watford who are 10 points better off than last year. Under Jurgen Klopp, this season, the Anfield outfit have lost only 1 game all season and are unbeaten in 13 games in all competitions, in a run that began in mid-August.

Manchester United show no improvement

Both the teams have made considerable improvements this season and have won their games very convincingly at times and are fighting for the title at the summit of the Premier League. Chelsea lead the table with 28 points while Liverpool follow closely in 2nd on 27 points from 12 games.

Meanwhile, 3rd placed Manchester City and Arsenal are both six points better off than the same stage last season but Manchester United have not improved since last year under Louis van Gaal and find themselves on the same number of points as the 2015/16 season, despite the arrival of Jose Mourinho and big money signings like Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mhktaryian.

Also, Everton are 5 points better off this season and the same goes for West Bromwich Albion and Hull. Chelsea and Liverpool are benefiting from an intense pre-season with their managers who have made them the best two teams in the Premier League so far.
