Steve Gerrard reveals that he has offers on and off the pitch

Gerrard has left LA Galaxy and looks set to head back home to England

Former Liverpool captain, Steven Gerrard, has revealed that he has some offers on the table as he confirms his departure from MLS side LA Galaxy. The Reds legend, however, believes that he isn’t yet sure as to where his next destination would be and stated that he would need some time to think it over.

While a move back home at Merseyside is always on the cards, a coaching role over at Brendan Rodgers-managed Celtic is also a possibility. However, Gerrard is in no rush to make a decision just yet.

“I’ve got options on the pitch, off the pitch, but I’ve got some thinking to do over the next two, three weeks.

“I’m not ready to make a decision or finalise anything I am going to be doing moving forward,” said Gerrard.

However, the one thing that is certain is the fact that he would spend the next few days with his family back in England. He also insisted that while he relaxes with his loved ones, he would mull over on what would be the next best option for him to choose.

“What I will say is I’m going home to spend some time with my family. Basically go over my options and decide what is the best challenge for me next.”

The English midfielder came through the ranks at Anfield and stayed there for over two decades before moving across the ocean and to the United States of America. As he now leaves Los Angeles Galaxy, rumours have gathered pace as to where his next destination would most likely be.

The legendary midfielder appeared a mammoth 710 times for Liverpool, scoring 186 goals in the process. In his time at the Merseyside club, he was revered as one of the best and greatest midfielders in the Premier League.

When I left Liverpool, I came to Los Angeles with the goal of helping the Galaxy lift another MLS Cup, I am of course disappointed to have not achieved that objective, but I can look back at my time at the club with pride at what we accomplished, including two straight playoff appearances and countless memorable moments on the pitch. As someone who spent the whole of their career in Liverpool, it has been an incredible experience to come to Los Angeles and play for the LA Galaxy. I would like to thank Mr. Anschutz, Dan Beckerman, Chris Klein and Bruce Arena for this opportunity. I would also like to thank my teammates, the coaching staff, all of the support staff and most importantly the fans for their fantastic support during my time at Galaxy; I am excited to see this league and this great club continue to grow. I am now looking forward to spending time with my family as I consider the next stage of my career .

Gerrard won everything with Liverpool but the only trophy missing in his cabinet is a league title. Indeed, it could possibly be his greatest regret as a player as he came very close to winning it under Brendan Rodgers, but slipped up at the very last moment.

As his playing career reaches the twilight phase, it would be interesting to see as to what the former Liverpool and England captain would do next. What is assured is the fact that we are going to see him connected with the sport, either as a player or a coach.
