Sunderland sack director of football Roberto De Fanti

Sunderland football club have sacked  their Director of football Roberto De Fanti.

The club stated:

“Sunderland AFC has announced that the club has parted company with Director of Football Roberto De Fanti.”

“The club would like to place on record its thanks to Roberto and wishes him well for the future.”

Sunderland have bought close to 30 new players in the past three years and yet find themselves in the relegation zone.

Due to this ill fated run and the failing of the new signings, Sunderland owner Ellis Short has taken the action of  firing De Fanti.
