Swansea express interest in Manchester United starlet Nick Powell
Manchester United forward Nick Powell, who is currently enjoying a fruitful loan spell at Championship side Wigan Athletic, has gained the attention of Swansea City who may launch a bid for the player at the end of the month. The Daily Mail reports.
Swansea are said to be extremely impressed with Powell, who has fired 12 goals for Wigan Athletic this season and was a key player for them in the Europa League.
The Welsh club want the youngster to join their ranks on loan but could make a bid of £5 million which could tempt United to sell the player. Swansea may face some competition for Powell’s services as Wigan also want to get him on loan for one more season should they gain promotion to the Premier League.
The England Under-21 international was bought by Sir Alex Ferguson for £6 million in 2012 and made six appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils scoring one goal.
Inspite of all the interest in Powell, United are unlikely to sell him as the youngster is perfectly capable of operating as a midfielder – a position that the Old Trafford club are extremely weak in.
