“That’s all I’m seeing” - Gary Neville compares Liverpool ace Mo Salah to Spurs player amid worrying run of form

Gary Neville has compared Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah to Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min, as the Egyptian struggles with form at Anfield.

It has not been very easy for Liverpool's talisman since the turn of the year, with them unable to depend on his goalscoring prowess. He has scored 17 goals and provided nine assists in 29 Premier League matches, but most of these efforts came nearer to the start of the season.

Ever since he returned from injury, following his appearances for Egypt at AFCON, the winger has not been himself. He scored against Brentford on February 17, but in the eight games that have followed, he has only scored twice, against Brighton and Manchester United.

Liverpool have also fallen into a poor run of form, and have struggled to win games in recent weeks. They have been knocked out of the FA Cup by Manchester United and the Europa League by Atalanta. Their chances of winning the Premier League title have also taken a huge beating.

Gary Neville has spoken about the mercurial Egyptian's poor run of form on his podcast, explaining (via TBR Football):

“Mo Salah has just hit a brick wall, and again, have got to be careful here. There is a player out here called Son that I think hit a brick wall about 18 months ago, was it, or so where he looked like he was gone, he was struggling. These players play so much football, they play so consistently. Salah has been almost ever-present for, like, six, seven years, it feels like."

He continued:

“There just comes a point whereby they just need a break. That’s all I am seeing. It is too quick to say this is the end of Mo Salah because I think we have done that before."

Gary Neville finished:

"He just looks like he has just run marathon after marathon after marathon after marathon in every season, and it has got to a point where mentality and physical it has got to a point where he probably thinks, ‘It hit me’, and you don’t even know it sometimes. The season end is around the corner, he will get a break and he needs that break.”

Liverpool superstar Mo Salah reacts after spat with Jurgen Klopp on touchline

During Liverpool's 2-2 draw with West Ham, Mohamed Salah came on in the 79th minute as a substitute. However, he and Jurgen Klopp clearly got into an altercation, as they spoke to each other in view of the fans and the cameras.

When Klopp was asked about it by the press, he refused to explain what had caused the situation. However, Salah reacted while walking past journalists after the match. When asked about the altercation, he responded (via BBC):

"If I speak there will be fire."

It is uncertain what has caused the divide between manager and player, but the duo would need to improve their relationship and try to end the season on a high.
