The brand that is Zlatan Ibrahimovic
Few players in the world can match the stature, exposure, class and talent that Paris St. Germain’s 32 year-old Swedish heart-throb Zlatan Ibrahimovic brings to his game. Known for his exuberant, instinctive and stylish way of playing football and for his insane strikes on goal, ‘Ibra’, in the last few years has grown to become one of the greatest entertainers the world of football has ever witnessed. Kicking off his career at Swedish club Malmö FF, Ibra announced himself to the world at Ajax, under the tutelage of Ronald Koeman and has never looked back ever since, in the process playing for clubs like Juventus, Inter Milan, A.C Milan, FC Barçelona and now PSG.
Ibrahimovic has racked up goals everywhere he has played and has won the respective League titles and many accolades as well building on his reputation as a genuine goal scorer and a game-changer. In my opinion, the Swede has been unlucky not to land a Champions League trophy so far, as two of the clubs he played for, FC Barçelona and Inter Milan both won the title the season after Ibra left the club. But that can be put down largely to Ibra’s troubled relations with his club or teammates and his nomadic existence.
After Zlatan scored a surreal 3rd goal against Anderlecht recently in the Champions League, the commentator remarked, “Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a ‘gift that keeps giving’.” That statement could well be applied to his life off the football field too. When he isn’t smashing incredible goals and doing flicks and tricks for club and country, he takes to social media to brighten up our mornings, ‘ZLATAN style’.
He has displayed his cheeky demeanor many a time with his curt and witty replies during press conferences and interviews, which the Swede is now bringing into play on Social Networking platforms through his Nike sponsored commercial campaign,”Dare to Zlatan”. On account of that, the PSG star took to Twitter on Monday for an interactive Q/A session with his fans, and well, he certainly didn’t disappoint, bringing a touch of Chuck Norris to his replies. Here’s a look at a few of the best:

He is one man who will be missed at the World Cup at Brazil this year, as his Sweden side came tearfully close to sealing the ticket but were denied by a magical performance from Cristiano Ronaldo for Portugal. But he has put it all behind and is spearheading a PSG campaign for a treble, with 36 goals and 15 assists for the season. With the way things are going for him, his brand is only bound to rise.
One thing’s for sure, ‘Age seems to hold no bar’ for this towering Swede and he has only gone from strength to strength over the years. At 32, he’s still a veritable threat to any opponent and presents a considerable challenge to younger teammates like Lucas Moura, Marquinhos, Matuidi, and Cavani who can only benefit from playing with such a player in their ranks. And who says PSG can’t be favourites for the Champions League title?
