1. Middlesbrough 0-2 Chelsea: Blues dig deep to secure QF berth:

Benitez’s patience with the club’s fans finally snapped on Wednesday as he confirmed his intention to leave the club at the end of the season. Chelsea won 2-0 courtesy goals from Ramires and Victor Moses.

2. Bayern beat Dortmund in German Cup quarters:

3. Ibra upstages Beckham as PSG beat Marseille again:

4. Atletico set-up all-Madrid cup final:

5. Nadal cruises into second round in Acapulco:

6. Djokovic, Federer close in on Dubai showdown:

Djokovic, the world number one, and Roger Federer, the defending champion, moved nearer to a showdown in Saturday’s final when both raced into the quarter-finals of the Dubai Open.

7. Adrian Sutil confident about competing this season:


German F1 racer, Adrian Sutil is confident that he will be able to travel with Force India to compete in the F1 Championships this season. In the beginning of the last F1 season, Sutil was found guilty of physically assaulting Lotus co-owner Eric Lux in April during a party in Shanghai. Sutil was banned in January 2012 for 18 months and also fined $250,000 for his actions.

8. Knicks spoil Curry’s big night:

Carmelo Anthony scored 35 points as the New York Knicks overcame Stephen Curry’s NBA season-high 54 points to beat the Golden State Warriors 109-105.
