1. Djokovic, Federer into Dubai semi-finals:
World number one Serbia’s Novak Djokovic serves the ball to Italian Andeas Seppi during their ATP Dubai Open tennis quarter final match in the Gulf emirate on February 28, 2013. Djokovic and defending champion Roger Federer moved closer to a mouth-watering Dubai Open final showdown when they cruised into the last four on Thursday.
2. Webber fastest in wet Barcelona testing:
Red Bull’s Australian Mark Webber drives during the Formula One test days at Catalunya’s racetrack in Montmelo, near Barcelona, on February 28, 2013. Webber clocked the best time of the day at a rain-swept Barcelona as the final pre-season test of the winter endured a soggy start on Thursday.
3. FA to punish blatant divers:
Starting the next season, anyone found guilty of reckless diving upon video review will suffer punishment for cheating. The FA is seriously looking at kicking things up a notch to eradicate the ‘cancer’, as FIFA vice president Jim Boyce called it
4. We feel totally safe in Hyderabad, says Warner:
Australia’s diminutive opener David Warner said he felt safe in the city despite heightened security measures after last week’s twin bombings that left 15 dead and more than 100 injured.
5. LA Lakers win 116 – 94 against Timberwolves:
Kobe Bryant‘s 33 points lead Lakers to 116-94 win over Timberwolves. Ricky Rubio finished with a double-double 13 points, 13 as LA won a remarkable 21st straight game over Minnesota.
6. South Africa post big win in 2nd Men’s Hockey World League Round 2:
World number ten South Africa made all the right noises possible on the opening day of the second men’s Hockey World League Round 2 tournament at the Deodoro in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The South Africans, who overcame cash crunch issues going into the tournament, drubbed hosts Brazil 9-0.
