Jamie Carragher will bring the curtain down on his illustrious Liverpool career at the end of this season. The former England defender – who has made 723 appearances – released a statement on the clubs official website, which read ‘It has been a privilege and an honour to represent this great club.’
2. Mithali Raj leads her team to a stunning victory:
India finished their ICC Women’s World Cup on a high as captain Mithali Raj led the hosts to a six-wicket win over arch rivals Pakistan at the Barabati Stadium here Thursday. Raj’s hard-fought century (103 not out) secured India victory as they went on to score 195 for four in 46 overs.
