The Footy Mumble: Arsenal the feeder club, Balotelli the victim!

Arsenal a feeder club. Confirmed!

Arsenal‘s consistent selling of their top players – Robin van Persie, Samir Nasri, Adebayor, etc. had long earned them the nickname of a ‘feeder club’.

That has now been confirmed by the club’s minority shareholder, Alisher Usmanov, himself.

He said, “It’s unthinkable that the shareholders get well paid while, for small clauses in contracts, we lose key players like Robin van Persie, Mathieu Flamini or Patrick Vieira. We should have increased their salaries when they started to be courted, started to look elsewhere. I don’t know why we didn’t propose that to them.”

Manchester United fans vandalize Balotelli’s car!

Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli may be on his way out of England and back to Italy, but he sure won’t like the ‘goodbye gift’ two Manchester United fans have allegedly given him.

The Sun has reported on how the two fans vandalized Balotelli’s car, with one of them seen urinating on the Italian’s camouflage Bentley, while another was pictured resting his backside on the £160,000 car’s back window.

As much as we wish to show you the pictures, we have no choice but to disappoint you.

Manchester United first $3 billion club

Manchester United have become the first club in the world to be valued at over $3 billion, after their shares continued to rise, reaching over $17 last week.

The rise comes as a result of United’s sponsorship spree, having signed deals with China Construction bank, Japanese paint maufacturer Kansai, and also the expected increase in revenue from broadcasting, owing to the Red Devils’ performances in the Champions League and Premier League this season.

United’s nearest rivals, the Dallas Cowboys, are valued at a distant $2.1 billion.

Daily Transfer Updates

In today’s transfer news, Didier Drogba has completed his move to Turkish giants Galatasaray. The former Chelsea striker reportedly snubbed a return to the Blues and chose a move to Turkey instead, worth £8 million over the next 18 months.

Meanwhile Tottenham signed Lewis Holtby from Schalke earlier than expected, with the player set to land in London by this week rather than move in the summer, as was earlier agreed.

Schalke will receive €1.5 million for the midfielder, who had just 6 months left on his contract.
