The Footy Mumble: Messi abuses, Sterling assaults?

Sterling in trouble?

Raheem Sterling, the Liverpool teen sensation, seems to be in trouble after being summoned by a court on assault charges.

He has been accused of assaulting a 27-year-old woman on Nov. 2 last year, when he was still 17. Now 18, he has been summoned to an adult court.

Sterling has denied being guilty of the charge.

He even added earlier this month in an interview with the Daily Mail,

‘I’ve become a better all-round person, especially in how I live my life off the pitch these days. And I’ve learned to be more selective with the people who I trust.

‘The people close to me now are good for me, I’ve learned from the experiences I had growing up, from the people who weren’t there for me. I now listen to my elders at home and at the club. I take on board what these people tell me.’

Beckham joins PSG

So, David Beckham has finally joined a new club. And Paris Saint Germain it is. Many are undoubtedly wondering about the real reason he joined Paris.

Maybe the answer is hiding in the transfer history of his career. Almost all of them have been as important to the fashion industry, or sometimes even more important, than football.

Starting of from Manchester to Madrid, onto Los Angeles and Milan, and finally Paris, it seems his involvement in the fashion world is as important as his involvement on the pitch.

Arbeloa slaps, Messi abuses?

Alvaro Arbeloa and Lionel Messi have become entangled in a controversy after the El Clasico in the middle of the week, with Arbeloa accused of slapping Messi during the match and Messi accused of abusing Arbeloa in a car park after the match!

Well, we found the video of Arbeloa ‘slapping’ Messi during the match while there is no evidence presentable for the Messi abuse. Messi reportedly had a fracas with Arbeloa and Madrid assistant coach Aitor Karanka.

After Arbeloa ‘slapped’ Messi during the match, the Argentinian reportedly confronted the Real defender in the parking lot after the match.

He reportedly called Arbeloa “dumb” in front of his pregnant wife. After Karanka arrived on the scene, Messi is alleged to have said,

“What are you looking at? You are just [Jose] Mourinho’s puppet?”

Deadline Day Musings

So, the transfer window finally shut last night. And all the moves have been shouted at you all through the day. So why bore you with more of the same? Instead, read more on the amusing incidents that happened on deadline day.

Like how George Boyd’s move from Petersborough to Nottingham Forest failed because, as Forest’s owners claimed, he failed an eye test.

If you think that was a stupid excuse to back out of the deal, you’re right, as this video of George Boyd scoring from 50 yards away proves.

Another incident is the curious case of Peter Odemwingie, who drove all the way from West Brom to QPR after thinking he had permission for a move, only to be denied entry at Loftus Road as the move was struck down. West Brom deny ever giving Odemwingie permission to travel to QPR, and that he was desperately trying to force a move.

Check out Odemwingie’s amusing interview below, as he prepares for a long drive back.
