The Footy Mumble: Rooney for Barnsley, Indian for Reading!

Poland great claims grandson better than Carroll!

Former Polish forward, Zbigniew Boniek, has claimed that his 8 year old grandson has better technique than Andy Carroll.

England take on Poland later today, and Boniek, although long retired, has attempted to strike the first blow for his country by attacking the much criticized British striker.

That is blatantly obvious in the fact that Carroll is far away indeed from being included in the starting lineup, with Welbeck, Rooney and Defoe all competing for a spot.

If only mind games won matches, Mr. Boniek!

Wenger wants Hernandez, Real want Schmeichel, Barnsley sign Rooney!

Starting with the usual transfer mumblings, Arsene Wenger will now look to emulate Alex Ferguson and attempt a transfer coup of sorts.

And who better to target than the very same Red Devils who stole his talismanic striker RvP in the summer transfer window.

His target seems to be Mexican Javier Hernandez, who has fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford thanks to the very same RvP.

Real Madrid too want a piece of United and will be targeting Mancunian great Peter Schmeichel son’s Kasper Schmeichel, who they think is Casillas’ long term successor.

And topping all transfer news today is Rooney, who has  moved to Barnsley.

No, not Wayne Rooney of course, but his younger brother John, who has moved from MLS club Ontario City.

Beckham could buy MLS club, billionaire sheikh cuts off Malaga!

MLS Commissioner Don Garber has revealed that David Beckham has an option to buy a majority stake in a MLS club once he retires.

Apparently, the MLS love the work Beckham has done in the U.S and will thus wait for his retirement before any talks about buying a Major League side can actually take place.

Although Beckham was linked with a takeover of Malaga, it seems it will be an American side Beckham eventually buys.

Sheikh Abdullah Al Thani

And talking of Malaga, it seems its billionaire owner has lost interest and considers it pointless to pump in money to solve the club’s financial problems.

That seems to make the Glazers look like Father Christmas!

Brandon Fernandes heading to Reading!

Indian teen sensation Brandon Fernandes’ EPL destination has been revealed to be Reading, who have offered the youngster a two-week trial.

If he manages to land a contract, he will be the first ever Indian to play in the Premier League.

Newcastle top tackiest merchandise list

It is common knowledge that clubs go to impressive depths to land a sponsorship deal or merchandise their products.

But Newcstle United top them all with this set of tacky ‘onesie’ PJs and costumes. We at the Mumble are at a loss of words. What about you guys?
