Three year old tweet on Jamie Vardy leaves fan embarrassed
Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy is probably the most talked about footballer in the Premier League right now. His goalscoring exploits have taken the league by storm which currently sees him at the top of the Premier League goalscorers chart with 14 goals from as many games.
This season’s surprise packages Leicester City are joint first in the Premier League along with Manchester City and Vardy’s contribution to his side cannot be overstated. He recently broke Ruud van Nistelrooy’s record of scoring in 10 successive League games by scoring in 11 games in a row with the latest being a first half strike against Manchester United on Saturday.
However, while the footballing world is going gaga over his heroics in the League, it proved to be a major embarrassment for a fan who had virtually written off Vardy’s abilities on Twitter three years ago.
Leicester City who now play in the Premier League after a break of 10 years were operating in the Championship until last season. And in the summer of 2012, they bought a relatively unknown striker by the name of Jamie Vardy from non-league side Fleetwood Town for one million pounds.
Though the amount looked too high for an unknown talent at the time, Vardy had just completed a superlative season personally scoring on 31 occasions in just 36 games for Fleetwood Town.
Meanwhile, that did not stop an Exeter City FC (currently in League 2) fan, Jack Nex from expressing his disbelief at the amount paid by Leicester in landing the striker from Fleetwood on twitter.
Leicester have signed non-league striker Jamie Vardy for £1m. What has football come too. Jesus Christ!!

These comments probably went unnoticed since there would have been an awful lot sharing the same opinion.
Fast Forward three years and those opinions are so hilariously off target. The striker has been on an incredible scoring streak and has also been called up to the English national team for whom he has already collected four caps.
His talent and form has attracted so much interest that there have been speculations linking him to Spanish giants Real Madrid along with the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea. It is also believed that his transfer value has skyrocketed north of 30 million pounds!
On the backdrop of all this, Jack Nex’s three-year-old tweet fetched a lot of attention and has been the victim of continuous abuse on the social media platform for his apparent short-sighted tweet.
However, to his credit, Jack has not deleted that particular tweet and he has been taking the abuse straight up probably in tribute to the League’s hottest property right now.
Phew, I've discovered how to turn notifications off. Didn't want to have to delete it, it's a fine achievement! ð??? #ChiefScout

Jack Nex had to learn the dangers of short-sighted and random tweets the hard way but credit to Jamie Vardy for his meteoric rise to prominence in England.
