Rumour: Tim Sherwood favourite to land the top job at White Hart Lane
Andre Villas-Boas became the fifth casualty in the Premier League, as he was sacked soon after an embarrassing 0-5 defeat at home, to arch rivals Liverpool. The heavy defeat was the last straw as Tottenham Hotspur chairman – Daniel Levy decided it was time for the two parties to part ways.
Tim Sherwood, who played his trade at White Hart Lane between 1999 and 2003, has been given the responsibility to coach the first team in the interim. The Englishman is also the current technical co-ordinator, overseeing the development teams, at Tottenham Hotspur.
Although a host of renowned names like Guus Hiddink and Fabio Capello have been linked with the post, it is firmly touted that the interim boss is favourite to land the top job.
All said and done, the next manager will have a wealth of options at his disposal, and a whole lot of pressure to go with it, as the management at Tottenham Hotspur looks to take the club to the next level.
