It is really important to reduce the Coaches workload and assign enough coaches for your First Team and Youth teams. This would increase your training quality and maximise the player’s development. Also, while searching for coaches, start with the 4-star coaches, it is surely impossible to sign 4-and-half-stars and 5-star coaches when you manage a small club. It would be better to filter the search options by setting the attributes at 14 and it depends if you play in a lower league you might as well reduce the attributes number and search.

When the attributes is set at 14 you will have the chance to find a broad section of coaches while managing in top leagues. Then you can increase or decrease the stats according to the club level. Although, there are four main attributes which you must consider first as they are the basic attributes to find the coaches. They are,

Determination → A coach with high determination attribute will look to take coaching courses to improve and have better chances to succeed. The level of determination will also influence him mentally to work in the best leagues and with the best players.

General attributes to be considered while signing a coach

Motivating → A coach with high motivation will influence the players work rate to play better, train harder and perform better in key matches, also players working under this coach will take training more seriously.

Level of Discipline → A coach with high level of discipline will often get better results, but this attribute can also upset your players and may lower their morale. Level of Discipline is tied with mental attribute, a strict coach needs a balanced level of mental attribute to make sure he can act and observe the level of stress, increase/decrease his strictness to keep the players happiness and preserve good morale.

Key Attributes for Every Training Category

  1. Fitness  → The Fitness Coaches work with the players to improve their physical attributes, like for covering the whole pitch in 90 minutes, increasing their stamina and strength for your playing style. These coaches work with all players from First Team to Youth Team. When searching for a fitness coach set the attributes above 15 and filter from the search using their rating or coaching qualifications. This catefory is classified into two sub-sections:

Strength → Players improve their stamina and strength

Aerobic → Players improve their pace, agility, jumping and balance.

  1.  Goalkeeping → The Goalkeeping coaches work with both First and Youth Teams looking to improve their goalkeeping attributes like,  dealing with the ball, rushing out to     to striker in one on one situations. Goalkeeping coaches and Fitness coaches are considered specialists and can never be assigned to General sub-sections, unless you     sign them as a coach. This category is also classified into two sub-section:
Searching goalkeeping coaches by using Goalkeepers and either Tactical or Technique attributes

Shot Stopping → Players improve their reflexes, one-on-ones and composure. Their key training attribute is Goalkeeping with Tactical.

Handling → Improve their handling ball, throwing and aerial ability. Their key training attribute is Goalkeeping with Technique.

  1. General → The General training category is very important as it covers the main areas like Tactical and Technique abilities of the player. You can appoint separate coaches for First team and Youth team for this category. The coaches signed as general coaches can be assigned to all the training categories; even goalkeeping or fitness, which is one of the main difference between the general coaches and the specialists (fitness and goalkeeping).

The general training category is split into five sub-sections and it would be wise to sign five key coaches to avoid the increase in training workload. Its better to have                       separate coaches because more time can be spend on one training area by the coach and not just piling up his work by training in every category. A coach can be given               two jobs at the maximum, but more than two, it would result in player unhappiness and very slow development in their attributes.

The five sub sections are :

Tactics → The tactical coaches will look to improve the players interaction between each other and how the players shall behave in the benefit of the team such                               as decision making, anticipation and team work. Added to this work, the coaches will also train the players in different tactics you deploy and make them versatile with                     any given tactics. The Tactical Attribute is very important to appoint coaches in this section.

Ball-Control → These coaches will improve the player’s first touch, dribbling and technique which is important for your midfielders and strikers. Also, when searching for                  staff with high technical attribute it could be recommended to sign a former football player, as they will have more experience in technical skills. The Technique attribute                  and Mental Coaching attributes are important for this section.

Defending → These coaches will work on the defensive areas of the game; marking, tackling, positioning and concentration, and will look to improve the defensive                          attributes of the players. The important attribute to appoint a coach for this section is Defense and Tactical attribute.

Attacking attribute with Tactical will be helpful to sign best attacking coach

Attacking → The attacking coaches will look to work on the player’s skills like passing, crossing and creativity. A good attacking coach is better than a good shooting                       coach, so try to sign the best available attacking coach. The important attributes here are Attacking and Tactical.

Shooting → These coaches primarily work with midfielders and strikers to improve their long shots and finishing. When searching for a staff in this position, try the                           Technique attribute and Attacking attribute. Also, a former player who just started coaching can also be appointed because he will have vast knowledge and                                   experience as a player.

These tips will surely be helpful for all the Football Manager players as they initially want to stabilize the coaching department once they take charge of the club.
