Top 10 players who played for both Inter and AC Milan
Inter and AC Milan are two Italian giants based in Milan. The rivalry between these two teams have been going on for a very long period and meetings between the clubs are always highly anticipated by fans from both ends. Although they share the same stadium, their ambitions and goals are different. Despite the rivalry between the two clubs, there are still a few players who took the decision to swap shirts to further their careers.

10. Francesco Coco
His celebrity lifestyle made more headlines than his time on the Football field. He is also a regular smoker, party addict, clothing manufacturer, and a movie star. Francesco Coco was reckoned to be the next Paolo Maldini. He has played for both Inter and Milan. He accused Inter for his failure to be Italy’s best left back. He made a statement that “Nerazurri” made a mistake by allowing him to undergo a surgery on his back in November 2003. Till today, he has been waiting for a call from Steven Spielberg.
9. Cristian Brocchi
After being promoted from Milan’s youth academy in 1994, Brocchi didn’t get any chance to play for Milan until 2001. By the time he has already made15 appearances for Inter, Milan signed him back from Inter as a part of a swap deal involving Argentina’s midfielder, Andres Guglielminpietro. When he finally found his best form while playing for Lazio, he still had some connection with Milan. He has a cafe located in the city which he runs along with Milan player, Christian Abbiati.

In 1996, like all the other Ajax players, he also moved to Milan with a mission. But for most of the season he warmed the bench. Edgar Davids is a combative and creative midfielder. He was nicknamed as “the Pitbull” by Louis Van Gaal because of his marking ability. He first made his move to Juventus which was then managed by Marcello Lippi. He was their midfield engine and was instrumental in their successful season. In the summer of 2004, he signed a permanent deal with Internazionale. Once again, he was mainly used as a substitute. When Inter terminated his contract in August 2005, he moved to Spurs on a free transfer.

Not many players have shifted clubs involving Inter and Milan, as frequent as Aldo Serena. Throughout his career, this striker has moved to Inter not less than 4 times and to Milan, as many as 2 times. In Inter, he was at his peak in 1989 when his 22 goals contributed to Inter’s victory in claiming the Scudetto and saw him finish as their top scorer that season. His transfer to Milan in 1991 still provokes anger among Inter fans. He was thoroughly abused when he came to claim the Scudetto in 2007 with Milan.

Even though Collovati came from the Milan’s youth ranks and made 158 appearances for the Rossoneri, his loyalty to the club was constantly put under test. In 1980, when Milan dropped to Serie B after getting involved in a betting scandal. Collovati was among the players who took the decision to stay with the club. But when Milan got promoted the next season, they didn’t last long and were again relegated. This time, the future 1982 World Cup winner made up his mind to pen a deal with their arch rival, Inter.

He still holds the record for the most number of goals scored in a debut season in Serie A.
