Gameweek 10 of the Premier League is over and it proved to be an absolute joy for the viewers. We saw records being broken in the opening game as Leicester city tore down the Southampton defence. We also saw the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United picking up regulation wins while Arsenal being held to a deflating draw at the Emirates. Also, in the big-ticket fixture of the round, we saw Liverpool edging out Tottenham at Anfield.

All these fixtures produced some amazing performances from certain individuals and that's what we're going to look into in this article.

Here we look at the top three performers from Matchday 10 of Premier League 2019/20.

Before we get started we need to make a few honourable mentions - Ayoze Perez, Ben Foster, Ben Chilwell, Paulo Gazzaniga and Marcus Rashford.

Note: To avoid redundancy, only one individual from one fixture has been chosen, otherwise the list would be full of Leicester players because they were outstanding against the Saints.

So without further ado, let's get started.

#1 Jamie Vardy (Leicester)

In the opening game of match-week 10, we saw the Foxes creating history as they fired nine past the Saints. They registered the biggest away victory by any club in the 131-year long history of the football league.

The Saints were hit with an early blow as Ryan Bertrand received his marching orders as soon as the Foxes scored their first goal. What followed next was an utterly shambolic performance by Southampton.

However, no matter how poor and lacklustre Southampton were, we can't ignore the fact that Leicester were at their absolute best and were firing on all cylinders. This could be established by the fact that two Leceister players grabbed a hat-trick in the same game.

It was a close call between the two players who grabbed their hat-trick but their chief attacking threat Jamie Vardy has to be named as the star performer of the game.

Arriving late to the party, Vardy didn't get on the scoresheet until the 5th goal but when he did, there was no stopping him. For his first goal, he used his guile to flick the ball away from Maya Yoshida leaving the Japanese defender completely baffled.

For his second, he showed his awareness slipping in between defenders going completely unmarked to head in a beautifully crossed ball by Ben Chilwell. The icing on the cake was his third which came through a spot-kick essentially being the last kick of the game.

Retirement from international football seems to be working in favour of the English forward as he has now become the top scorer in the League.
