England have several talented goalscorers

Since the first Premier League season in 1992-93, the English top-flight has grown massively into the most diverse league in the world. The PL has attracted some of the biggest players and managers to the league from around the world in the last couple of season, taking viewership figures to massive heights.

Despite the influx of foreign talent, English players have continued to be the most targeted players for teams to be built around. Top English players have entertained audiences for a long time and we take a look at five active English players with the most number of PL goals:

#5 Daniel Sturridge

Liverpool v FC Augsburg - UEFA Europa League Round of 32: Second Leg
Sturridge was shipped off to West Brom on loan

England and Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge is currently on loan to WBA, where he hopes to impress national team manager Gareth Southgate and dig the Baggies out of the relegation dogfight. The club languishes at the bottom of the table and suffered a massive scare when new loan signing Sturridge limped out in the fourth minute of the game against Chelsea.

Sturridge will need to bounce back quickly and aid the club's bid for safety and his bid for a spot in the national team for the upcoming FIFA WC. The former Manchester City and Chelsea striker, Sturridge has scored 74 goals in the league and is the fifth highest active goalscoring Englishman.

A technical player with superb quick feet and goal-scoring ability, Sturridge is deadly on his day and is a threat to any defender with his pace and trickery. The Englishman faces stiff competition for places in the national team with Vardy, Defoe, Rashford all vying for a place in the team.
