Top 5 candidates to replace Ronald Koeman at Everton
Everton have started the season miserably. A far cry from their pre-season ambitions of 'Top 4' or even 'Top 6'.
Ronald Koeman is someone with a glowing reputation, but despite this, his tactics and muddled team selection have led Everton to only two wins in the last eight games, with a home defeat to Burnley, leaving the Toffees in sixteenth on the table, at the second international break of the season.
Koeman has even gotten the infamous 'vote of confidence' from majority shareholder Farhad Mohsiri, who had led the chase for Koeman being brought in from Southampton following the sacking of Roberto Martinez.
Amid widespread demand for a replacement, despite reports emerging of Walter Mazzarri being considered, the rumour seems extremely unlikely following his particularly forgettable season.
Apart from that, he still barely speaks English, making it difficult to communicate to a squad that is surprisingly largely English or English speaking.
With Everton's results poor and their performances even poorer, here are 5 managers who the Toffees could go after:
5. Carlo Ancelotti
Probably the unlikeliest of the lot, Ancelotti might not be a candidate Everton might land considering the fact that he is still one of the most successful Italian managers in history.
Also, his wage demands could be huge, but considering Mohsiri's new investment Everton too could pull off the coup and land the former AC Milan, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid boss.
With the prospect of European football still not over, Ancelotti might well consider this a good time to return to England to take over a good squad, backed by a muscular and fresh investor.
Ancelotti has also said that working in the top flight is his biggest criteria, but with AC Milan looking shaky in Italy, he might just be waiting for a return call to the San Siro and ignore the prospects of England altogether.
